Pourtant combien de tr\u00e9sors m\u00e9connus ou mal aim\u00e9s dans ces partitions ! Ses compositeurs sont souvent consid\u00e9r\u00e9s avec d\u00e9dain, ou inconnus des passionn\u00e9s de musique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On connait \u00e9videmment <em>le Sacre du printemps<\/em>, favori des chefs et des programmes de concert, on aime naturellement <em>Daphnis et Chlo\u00e9<\/em> ou le <em>Pr\u00e9lude \u00e0 l\u2019apr\u00e8s-midi d\u2019un faune<\/em>, mais qui a vu ces ballets \u00e0 la sc\u00e8ne&nbsp;? Le g\u00e9nial <em>Rom\u00e9o et Juliette<\/em> de Prokofiev a tant \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 dans la publicit\u00e9 que tout un chacun connait la musique du bal chez les Capulets, sans savoir qu\u2019avec la chor\u00e9graphie, cette musique prend tout son sens et est incroyablement magnifi\u00e9e. Ces partitions ont acquis un statut d\u2019\u0153uvre de concert, existant par elles-m\u00eames sans que la danse n\u2019y soit plus associ\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quand il est question d\u2019Adam, Auber, Delibes, Lalo et Messager ou m\u00eame Glazounov, le m\u00e9lomane est plus circonspect&nbsp;; un peu comme pour l\u2019op\u00e9rette, cela n\u2019a pas l\u2019air tr\u00e8s s\u00e9rieux, on s\u2019\u00e9loigne du bon go\u00fbt et de la (vraie&nbsp;?) musique s\u00e9rieuse. Qui donc connait Minkus, pourtant l\u2019un des compositeurs sans lequel le ballet russe ne serait pas ce qu\u2019il est aujourd\u2019hui, ou encore Pugni&nbsp;? Tcha\u00efkovski lui-m\u00eame souffre parfois d\u2019un peu de condescendance&nbsp;: trop de pathos, trop de larmes. On a bien des souvenirs d\u2019enfance de <em>Casse-Noisette<\/em>, au moins des danses du dernier acte&nbsp;; on a en t\u00eate les grands th\u00e8mes du <em>Lac des Cygnes<\/em>, mais on \u00e9coute rarement ces ballets int\u00e9gralement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si vous croyez ne pas aimer la musique de ballet, vite, cherchez la <em>Belle au bois dormant<\/em>, enregistr\u00e9e par l\u2019Orchestre de la Suisse Romande sous la direction d\u2019Ernest Ansermet. D\u00e8s les premi\u00e8res notes, on est happ\u00e9 par la folle \u00e9nergie, le charme et la beaut\u00e9 de cette musique, impossible de s\u2019ennuyer. Ce disque est une pure merveille. La musique est g\u00e9niale, malgr\u00e9 les contraintes que Marius Petipa, le plus grand chor\u00e9graphe de la danse classique, a impos\u00e9es \u00e0 Tcha\u00efkovski&nbsp;: dur\u00e9e, style, tempo, couleur&nbsp;! Les deux autres ballets, <em>le Lac des Cygnes<\/em> et <em>Casse-Noisette<\/em>, sont du m\u00eame niveau. Ecoutez-les d\u2019un bout \u00e0 l\u2019autre&nbsp;: g\u00e9nie m\u00e9lodique, orchestration luxuriante d\u2019une grande inventivit\u00e9 (les harpes&nbsp;! les bois&nbsp;! les cuivres&nbsp;!), solos de violon dignes du concerto du m\u00eame compositeur, sont autant d\u2019invitations \u00e0 un voyage musical sans pareil. Mieux encore&nbsp;: visionnez ces ballets extraordinaires, Youtube est une mine in\u00e9puisable&nbsp;; cherchez-les en Russie (Bolcho\u00ef, Marinsky ou Stanislavski), \u00e0 Paris, Londres ou Milan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quand vous serez convaincus par Tcha\u00efkovski, ce qui ne sera pas difficile, allez vers des terrains moins fr\u00e9quent\u00e9s. Essayez par exemple l\u2019incroyable \u00ab&nbsp;variation claque&nbsp;\u00bb de <em>Raymonda<\/em>, musique de Glazounov. Un piano solo vous transporte en quelques notes dans un monde exotique, bient\u00f4t rejoint par un orchestre discret&nbsp;; le myst\u00e8re s\u2019\u00e9paissit. Cherchez alors une vid\u00e9o qui vous montrera la <em>prima ballerina<\/em> en princesse hongroise inaccessible&nbsp;; essayez Sylvie Guillem, No\u00eblla Pontois ou Maria Alexandrova, pour comprendre le lien indissoluble entre la musique et le geste. Il vous sera difficile d\u2019oublier ce piano ent\u00eatant comme un parfum capiteux. Vous prendrez peut-\u00eatre go\u00fbt \u00e0 la danse et on vous parlera d\u2019un des plus grands ballets du r\u00e9pertoire, <em>La Bayad\u00e8re<\/em>, actuellement encore la plus belle production jamais mont\u00e9e \u00e0 Paris. Quand vous aurez entendu la musique si simple, si profonde, si touchante, de l\u2019entr\u00e9e des Ombres, quand vous aurez visionn\u00e9 dix fois cette merveille, vous voudrez savoir qui a compos\u00e9 cette musique. C\u2019est Ludwig Minkus (1826-1917) justement, auteur de <em>La Bayad\u00e8re<\/em>, du <em>Corsaire<\/em>, de <em>Don Quichotte<\/em>, de <em>Paquita<\/em>, de <em>La Source<\/em> (avec Delibes justement) et autres <em>Camargo<\/em> et <em>Fille des neiges<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et ce pauvre Adolphe Adam, oubli\u00e9 ou m\u00e9pris\u00e9 aujourd\u2019hui, sans doute \u00e0 la mesure de son succ\u00e8s et de sa c\u00e9l\u00e9brit\u00e9 au 19<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup>, auteur de dizaines de ballets, op\u00e9ras, op\u00e9ras comiques et op\u00e9rettes&nbsp;; il n\u2019en reste pas grand-chose dans les salles de concert et les th\u00e9\u00e2tres, m\u00eame si le d\u00e9licieux <em>Postillon de Longjumeau<\/em> redevient populaire. Heureusement, il reste <em>Giselle<\/em>, qui n\u2019a jamais quitt\u00e9 l\u2019affiche des maisons de ballet. Visionnez, \u00e9coutez&nbsp;: on est transport\u00e9 dans un autre monde, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce chef d\u2019\u0153uvre de musique, tr\u00e8s estim\u00e9 de Tcha\u00efkovski et de Saint-Sa\u00ebns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>S\u2019il y a un musicien qui aime le ballet, c\u2019est bien le chef Richard Bonynge, infatigable d\u00e9couvreur de musique et collectionneur passionn\u00e9 de tout ce qui touche \u00e0 l\u2019op\u00e9ra et \u00e0 la danse au 19<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> si\u00e8cle. On a r\u00e9\u00e9dit\u00e9 r\u00e9cemment un coffret de 45 CD consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 ses enregistrements de ballets. Personne n\u2019a jamais fait mieux, apr\u00e8s tous les op\u00e9ras qu\u2019il a enregistr\u00e9s avec Joan Sutherland. Merci Sir Richard&nbsp;!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quand un soir vous aurez l\u2019\u00e2me en peine, \u00e9coutez l\u2019entr\u00e9e de Kitri dans <em>Don Quichotte<\/em> ou la variation de la F\u00e9e de la Vigne dor\u00e9e de la <em>Belle au Bois dormant<\/em>.
