Mais leur r\u00e8gne est menac\u00e9 par Bernardo et ses Sharks, jeunes Portoricains r\u00e9cemment d\u00e9barqu\u00e9s dans une ville o\u00f9 le r\u00eave am\u00e9ricain se confronte \u00e0 la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 du racisme et de la pr\u00e9carit\u00e9. Lass\u00e9 de ces rixes, Tony, le meilleur ami de Riff, aspire \u00e0 une vie meilleure. Il rencontre lors d\u2019un bal Maria, la s\u0153ur de Bernardo. Oubliant la violence du monde qui les entoure, les deux jeunes gens s\u2019avouent leur amour naissant. Mais comme Rom\u00e9o et Juliette avant eux, ils ne peuvent se soustraire \u00e0 la haine qui consume leurs communaut\u00e9s respectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est Broadway en Alsace ! Soixante-cinq ans apr\u00e8s sa cr\u00e9ation, <em>West Side Story<\/em> n\u2019a rien perdu de son actualit\u00e9. Le metteur en sc\u00e8ne Barrie Kosky et le chor\u00e9graphe Otto Pichler revisitent ce chef-d\u2019oeuvre de la com\u00e9die musicale dans un spectacle tout en ombres et lumi\u00e8res, c\u00e9l\u00e9brant le choc des corps.
